Stephen discovered Terry in 1990 when someone in his drama group suggested that Terry' s books might be possible subjects for dramatisation. After adapting and staging Wyrd Sisters, he started several other Discworld related projects beyond the theatre adaptations. Since that time he has adapted over ten of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels for the theatre. He then takes pleasure in performing the adaptations with his local drama group in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, UK
He has collaborated with Mr. Pratchett on several projects, such as the Discworld Companion, Nanny Ogg's Cookbook, the Guild Diaries, and The Discworld mapps (after convincing Terry that Ankh-Morpork could be mapped). He has not only written these books with Terry, but also has been the illustrator on several of these projects.
As CMOT Briggs, he produces and sells several Discworld related products, including a UU T-shirt and the Harga's House of Ribs apron, at reasonable prices (definitely worth a look at http://www.cmotdibbler.com/). He has made five voice recordings of Discworld novels, and last but not least he was the model for the Clarecraft Patrician figurine. He lists his personal interests as the Theatre, walking around the countryside, and cooking (one wonders what he puts in his sausages). When he is not involved in his multiple Discworld related projects, he works in the civil service.
As an artist, adapter, actor and author for many Discworld related projects, Stephen Briggs, unlike Cut-Me-Own-Throat Dibbler, has his niche on the Discworld.
